The following is a summary of personal attacks by The Liberal Conservative on other bloggers JUST for the month of January.

These type of attacks stifle real conversation or debate about issues.

The News & Record once had a policy prohibiting personal attacks on its blogs. There have been a few people banned from the blogs due to ignoring these warnings and taste guidelines.

I question how one blogger seems to continue with these attacks with no actions by the News & Record.

Please bring civility back to the Letters to the Editor blog. It has become a cesspool where folks who wish to offer their opinion often leave and don’t return due to being personally attacked and mocked.

Dear Sirs and Madams,

Child and petty comments for this blog are now being handled under contractual from existential downtown Bombay. Girls can relax, we will take it from here. We are forward looking to severing you.

Although, for some unknown reason, I am unable to post to the LTE blog I seldom miss a day without reading everything on the op-ed page and the follow up blogs - I acknowledge that the Lib Con is often shallow and non-thinking and perhaps even coarse but please let him (her?) continue to have his/her say. All voices are of worth and each has a story to tell or a point to ponder - What a poorer world (and op-ed page) it would be if only the polite, articulate, and agreeable were allowed to air their views -

Nitpicker, I'd also encourage you to click on the feedback button at the bottom of the page -- every page -- and immediately notify us when you see some offensive comments.

Holden, I too believe various voices and opinions should be heard, that is what makes the blogs interesting. With all due respect, please reread the 1:25 post from Nitpicker. "Polite" is one thing, persistent personal attacks are another thing.

Would you enjoy being 'diagnosed' with mental illness, called a "blithering idiot", told your cerebral capacity is limited, called stupid, ignorant, etc. etc on a DAILY basis Holden? You state his posts are "even coarse"? That is an laughable underestimate.

This is but one month of insults Nitpicker listed, the exact same thing has been going on for years. May I provide a few additional examples:

These are but a small example of attacks directed at me, they are consistently directed at others as well, every single day. I ask again, would you enjoy these responses to your posts on a daily basis Holden?

Mr. Robinson, I would ask that the N&R post it's terms of use on the LTE blog as done previously and enforce them. It would also be appreciated if Mr. Johnson would reply on the Letters to the Editor blog. If he wishes one blogger to persistently attack other bloggers at this level then that is the what we can expect from the LTE blog from now on. If he has objections to these constant personal insults it would be worth noting.

The problem with that argument is consistency. More than one have already been booted from this blog for their crude comments.

You just saw the tip of the iceberg in my post and the examples from Dan.

Freedom of speech is only free for some. How do you justify allowing these hate-filled comments go while stopping others.

We appreciate your bringing this problem to our attention. We will delete the objectional comments.
If they persist, we will ban the commenter altogether.
