For everyone who thinks that everyone thinks just as they do, here's evidence that they don't.
First letter this a.m.
Could this paper bury its "coverage" of the protests in St. Paul any deeper? The fact that nearly as many people came to the Twin Cities to protest as came to attend the Republican convention would seem to merit some attention. 10,000 marched on Monday. Nearly 400 were arrested on the final day, when police barred their path to the convention site.
One would think, given the coverage, that the only storm the Republican's had to worry about was Gustav.
Next letter in:
Perhaps your paper's masthead should read "Democrat Party News Only."
The News-Record continues to disparage the Republican Party. Just look at your coverage of the Republican National Convention the past two days. First, you ignore Senator McCain's Vice-Presidential candidate and her wonderful speech. Then today, you publish the NYTimes report on the convention which is negative and uncomplimentary. By the way, the AP report is upbeat and congratulatory of McCain and the Republican party.
Me, I just want to move beyond partisan rancor.

Mark, I do not think you are evil. I think you are a liberal lapdog. You people should love Palin, Thursday, I could not find a copy of your paper anywhere, did paper sell you out, are did your delivery truck, break down? If your truck did not breakdown you should send Palin, a royalty check. John, if you do not think your paper is liberal*, tell us the last time your paper wrote something negative about Raleigh. If a republican had misused 748 million dollars of school money, you would have whet after them, like my wife dog goes after strangers.
* I am a democrat , please do not confuse us good democrats, with the liberals. I think you took the letter wrong, I figure you buried it because these nuts were your kind of of people liberals

Why are the people who harp loudest about THE liberals (in the same unnecessary-definite-article way their even more reactionary brethren complain about "THE blacks" and "THE gays") always the ones with the worst grammar and the clumsiest prose styles? Mr. Johnson's bizarre run-on second sentence is sadlly typical. Silly me, I thought conservatives were the ones in favor of traditional education, while lliberals (sorry, "the liberals") were intent on bringing down academic standards in favor of touchy-feely inclusiveness.

Ian, I dare you you to find one statement, that I are any member of my family has made about blacks are gays. Why is it idiots like you, that attack people with out any facts. Liberals like you just hate facts, so you bring on your stupid remarks.

I am a Passive reader of this chain. I don't really care for the far left or right and think the paper does a good job reporting both sides.
I am concerned about Ian attacking someone's grammar in the same sentence where a word is misspelled. I hope this was satire and not laziness. What do they say about glass houses?
