The NCAA and blogging
Seems as if the NCAA is cracking down on blogging at football games. Again. Goofy.
We have blogged during games, but don't have any immediate plans to do it this week. Given how many games are on television, I'm not convinced it is worth the effort.
Still, I don't see the point of the NCAA's rules. I can go to a game as a spectator, sit in the stands, and blog about it from my Blackberry (if I had one) as many times as I like. But if I'm in the press box someone is going to stand over my shoulder and count? Makes no sense. But then again, this is the same group that enforces recruiting violations.

Were it me, I'd be inclined to deliberately exceed the guidelines and see if they actually had the, um, you-know-whats to throw me out of the game. My criteria breaking post would read something like:
"Well, this sure is an exciting game. The home team gained another five yards. By the way, this post exceeds their arbitrary policy for blogging, so if you don't see another post in five minutes, you can pretty much assume team officials here have thrown my sorry butt out of the stadium for telling you, the readers, what's going on here. If you have any thoughts about this, e-mail, home phone numbers and other contact information for team officials will be forthcoming as soon as I hit the coffee shop down the road."
