Oops! Did I say that?
Some people believe -- and I'm one of them -- that those political prognosticators will say pretty much anything if it gets them more notoriety or, better yet, more airtime. So, who can resist when their comments coming back to haunt them? Andrew Sullivan reminds us of some of the best ones about President-elect Obama.
My favorite: "Barack Obama is on his way to a McGovern candidacy," -- Victor Davis Hanson, National Review, March 29, 2008.

Same thing as before.

Same thing as before?
Before it was:
- It had nothing to do with this post
It was a local example of people saying things that come back to haunt them.
- it was a reprint of his own blog post
No, it wasn't.
- it was signed by a different name.
I'm not even sure what kind of name criteria you mean.
Isn't the real reason that you are now deleting comments that get under your skin?

"The same thing as before" referred to my deleting it, not the reason. That's what you asked.
Few comments get under my skin. But if I deleted the ones intended to do that I doubt I'd have any comments, period.
In this case, I deleted it because it was off-topic, he had posted the same kind of comment on my blog before and on his blog before. Almost troll-like.

Thank goodness you DO limit this from being a "sounding board" for those who have issues unto themselves that really aren't issues at all. I am a "new resident" of Asheboro (aka I have only lived here for 18 years) and I am so tired of hearing "oh you live where the crazy doc with the old blog lives." Thank goodness you ahave a clear understanding of what a blog is supposed to be. Now...if you could just teach some people...

God forbid we have a sounding board with the paper of record in our area. That would suck.
BTW both mine and Lab Rat's posts are off topic.

Thanks, Mick. One point: This blog isn't intended to be a sounding board. You can use the letters to the editor blog for that. Or, better yet, get a blog. They're easy to set up and fun to have.
