Don't drill in Arctic

Citizens do not want oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The oil produced would be years in the future and only small amounts would be produced. There would be great environmental damage to many kinds of wildlife.

"Citizens do not want oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge"

Which citizens are you talking about? I guess since there are two people who signed this letter, it is correct to use the plural here.

Seriously, though. Some citizens don't want the oil drilling and some do. You don't speak for 100% of the citizens in this country so please don't use such blanket statements without any backup whatsover.

A few actual facts about the great damage to many kinds of wildlife would be appreciated as well. Did you interview the caribou?

I don't think that "citizens" want to be dependent on foreign oil forever, either. It's a matter of priorities and using the available resources for the most positive results.

This mindless letter looks as though it was taken directly from a placard at some save the whatever rally. Gee folks save your moronic chants for those street corner protests where the CO2 they produce will be absorbed into the atmosphere.

I'm wondering where Mazie and Bill got their statistics to conclude that "The oil produced would be years in the future and only small amounts would be produced. There would be great environmental damage to many kinds of wildlife."

Surely they can point to some hard facts to support their claims...

Citizens of where? Evidently the citizens of the affected area look forward to the work beginning. It means jobs for them and oil for the rest of the country.

There was hoopla when the original pipeline was put into place and other drilling took place. From my personal observation the damage, foretold by the all wise enviromentialist who then as now are yelling the loudest, never came about.

Mazie and Bill must have not counted the 75% of the people who live closest to the area in question are for the exploration for oil. Also they seem to have left off the part about the possiblity of that area having more oil than the Middle East does.

Who ever has the last oil well will rule the world and the US better be the one that does!
