Selective enforcement for posting on mailbox

Two years ago, our political group was charged by the U.S. Postal Service an unimaginable fine for placing our literature on mailboxes in our neighborhood. They determined that we owed postage on the fliers for our entire neighborhood. We had not placed the literature on every house in our area.

Since that time, we have been inundated with numerous fliers advertising yard work, pizza coupons and other political groups. I cannot believe that each of these groups is charged postage for the information that they leave.

I looked on the Postal Service Web site and found that it was actually against the rules to place things in or on mailboxes. The Web site stated that "... no part of a mail receptacle may be used to deliver any matter not bearing postage, including items or matter placed upon, supported by, attached to, hung from, or inserted into a mail receptacle. Any mailable matter not bearing postage and found as described above is subject to the same postage as would be paid if it were carried by mail."

Therefore, I would like for these folks who consistently plaster my mailbox with advertising and other literature to stop or be subject to fines by the post office, too.

If this is the worst thing that's ever happened to you, (most "Mindy's" eke through by sounding babysitteresque) it would benefit your sense of equanimity to visit a rest home or witness the abuse of a child.

Such a mean-spirited comment about a total stranger.

And if a precious female says it's mean, that's all it can be, right?

So glad to learn that you consider females precious, Steve.
I said mean-spirited, not mean. And your comment can be many things - condescending, sarcastic and oblique immediately come to mind - but it is still mean-spirited.

You should at least have the balls to admit the truth. You implied I am mean and any other explanation besides that means you are lying.

Spicing up the blogs on a cloudy day is really an act of kindness. My intention is to put a smile in the heart of those sophisticated enough to interpret shades of meaning.

If the whole world tries to stomp out the love that's in me, it's only because they tried to misunderstand.

"Balls," said the Queen, "If I had 'em, I'd be king!"

I don't know if you're mean or not, but I think you were mean to Mindy and I said so. BUT, I've been reading some of your other comments on other topics and several of them brought a smile to my face.

Am I not sophisticated enough to interpret the shades of your meanings? More likely just too tired.

So much outrage, so little time. Or maybe I should just go back to surfing the personals...they have pictures!

I wish you the best . . now, poof! Be gone!

Mindy, I hope you'll accept my apology, the letters were a little too uncontroversial for my taste. Keep writing.

I'd like to slide something in Mindy's mailbox.....

I STILL wanna know which Realtor put that stuff out in/on people's mailboxes a couple of weeks ago.
