Treat Bush fairly

I am tired of the Bush bashing, especially during war and with our troops being put in danger. Terrorism is real; don't downplay the danger. Be fair in your reporting.

I to am tired of it - but the real problem, Ms. Friedrich is Mr. Bush has not done a very good job of ..
= Showing us why we needed to go into let-alone stay-in Iraq
= Capturing Osama or Zarqawi
= Providing for our Military future
= Holding governmemt within it's fiscal means
= Rebuilding Americas industrial might
= Holding in check illegal immigrations
= Insisting on personal responsibility in power positions
= or ...

He HAS done a good job of:

= Further enriching his base, apparently including $30 million to Dick Cheney who holds a whole bunch of Haliburton Stock
= Hiding from us the Osama Message - issued the weekend before the 2004 Elections - on the premise that it contained "hidden messages" (ever read the transcript? It's really interesting; it was mostly Osmama's not-too kind words about the father-son Bush tag-team, and no wonder GWB wanted it contained, but his reason was BS)
= Bringing immigrates into the Republican rold
= Spending your grand childrens money
= Promoting Free-but-not Fair Trade deals
= Fireing folks who didn't support his message
= Promoting folks who did support his message, regardless of their lack of personal responsibility
= or ...

"Be fair in your reporting"

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,!!!!!!!!!

It's pretty easy to be fair when the man is so obvious with his screw up's imo.

When CNN had a picture of the vice president, with a X across it. Veiwers called in protesting, CNN told them not to watch CNN if they did not like what they saw. After a couple of E-mails to the NR, I have a feeling they are much the same way.Do any of you remember CBS a few years ago had a picture of Bush being shot at by terrorist? I called and wrote WFMY, this was the kind of answer, I got from them.If I had of done this,my tail would still be in jail. That in my opinion why Fox News (tells both sides)is growing and the rest of the media, is dying a slow death.

Patricia, If it hurt to hit your finger with a hammer, why on earth would you keep hitting your finger with a hammer. Same with Bush-bashing. If it upset you to read it, DON'T READ IT.

"When CNN had a picture of the vice president, with a X across it. Veiwers called in protesting, CNN told them not to watch CNN if they did not like what they saw."

A couple of things about that:

1. The person who fielded those calls was fired immediately.
2. That's a video editing cue mark, not some conspiracy. (think about it, Cheney snarls enough to not need any help looking bad!)
3. Personal responsibility. Remember that?
4. Personal responsibility. Republican motto that lies forgotten?
5. For being the party currently in power, I have never in my life seen a bigger bunch of whiners. Egads!

Doggie:

If you think Fox is "fair and balanced", I have a really nice bridge for you ...

Although I agree with the writer, I still wish the N&R would stick to letters that add something to a discussion.

treat bush fairly? like he's treated us fairly? Right. hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe...surely this letter is a joke, right?

Say what you will about CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, etc. the fact remains that Fox News which is only 10 years old has the fastest growing segment of the cable news market. You can argue whether they are fair and balanced or not, but in the end, television viewers are increasingly trusting Fox News to get it right. CNN was the monster in cable news 15 years ago, and look where they are today. MSNBC barely scratches. Even if Fox News has a conservative bias, they look moderate, fair and balanced to the majority of cable news viewers in comparison to the alternatives.

Oak Ridge:

I am clueless how the popularity of a news show or network can in any way be an indicator of the validity of it's reporting.

In Russia, they apparently use topless female anchors to attract an audience.

I'd hate to see O'Reilly or Hannity topless.

ORR, The American people have also made The National Enquirer, Jerry Springer, Rush, Hannity and all the reality shows very popular. Does this mean any of them have any real credibility? IMO, all this means is a lot of Americans are desperate for entertainment.

Most of the people who post here try to stay informed enough to at least have an opinion. But ask around sometime and you will hear a good many state flatout they had rather be entertained than informed.

I am tired of bashing Bush with his own words. Let's get another president who doesn't inspire bashing.

Destiny's MIL, that is the best thing I have read in quite a while! I'm game, who's with us?

Shalom

Thank you Patricia for your post. I agree with you totally. Let JD, gaytony, yvonne etc. rant and rave but let's not give them the chance to have their choice in Washington - PLEASE!

The good news is we're all free to say what we want here in the good old USA. Many good people have, are and will die for us to have this right.

Bush lied to start a war. Impeach Bush. Impeach Cheney. Send our troops home. Save our country.

My, my, my, what the Republicans are now reaping, they sowed with fervor many years ago. Bill Clinton was so evil for lying about an extramarital affair, and now those same people defend an administration that basically rigged going to war. People who attacked Clinton now defend Rush Limbaugh for doctor shopping to feed his drug addiction. People who attacked Clinton now defend a President who has overseen record spending increases, cronyism, and an overall loss of international stature. And you tell me Fox News is "Fair" and "Balanced"? If Bush were to be impeached, I doubt Fox would mention it during prime time! So now we are to stop telling the truth about the President because it might undermine morale of the troops??? The biggest "Spirit Breaker" is that there are over 15,000 wounded with faces burned beyond recognition, limbs lost, no vision, no hearing and a wide array of other injuries that will never allow them to lead a normal life again. And WHY? To fight terrorism? Unless you are talking about Afghanistan, don't even go there. Iraq harbored no Al Qaeda and now we know there were no WMD. When Mr. Bush and Cheney are out of office and run into some of the parents of the wounded, they had better have a can of whoop ass with them! They will need it.

"Thank you Patricia for your post. I agree with you totally. Let JD, gaytony, yvonne etc. rant and rave ....."

bgh, Listed below are definitions for rant and rave. Where in any of out posts did you find any ranting or raving?

Rant-"a loud bombastic declamation expressed with strong emotion"
Rave-"an extravagantly enthusiastic review"

DemonDeacon, Amen!

JD Rockhead,
Doggie????????
You could not sell gold bricks to me.
Have you ever seen anything on Fox that has not had a pro and con on anything??? Is Your idea of fair and balance is Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton on Larry King bashing Bush? If your news media is so bright, why is Fox the only the only growing media, in the USA? Most of my liberal friends watch Fox they root for Colmes we root for Hannity. However we all root for America. Three months ago liberals want more boots on the ground, now they want less boots, which is it? Closing I am not a Bush fan, however, I will never knock any president, are my country.

Dawg, fox news doesn't get their talking points from the dnc before going on the air. This is the problem the liberals have with them. They worship at the feet of Dan Rather and Larry King, you know the ones in the ratings basement. They cling to the old media in hopes of it returning them to glory. Take it easy on them, it's all they have left. I tune in to cnn and msnbc every once in a while just to get the latest liberal talking points and to have a few laughs. Chris Mathews is like a wind up doll with the dnc pulling his string......pathetic

Doug,
I hope you do not always keep the idea of supporting the President at all costs.
Most people have no idea how Nixon took us close to a constitutional breakdown by ordering the Attorney General to fire the special prosecutor. The first attorney general refused and resigned. The next in line refused and resigned. The third was Robert Bork and he took your idea of blind following, and fired the special prosecutor. We all know how the story ended, but many forget how corrupt Nixon was because they thought they were being patriotic in supporting him. I knew plenty of people who sported bumper stickers that read "Support Our President" because that is how Nixon's people tried to keep him in office. Bush is using the "patriotic" arrow from his quiver because it works....it turns one American against another. As Bobby Kennedy once said, "Support our troops, but question our leaders". That still rings true today.

Thanks for the definitions yvonne. I just read everyday from you and your cohorts about how bad everything in the US is and how President Bush is at fault. Let me change my "rant and rave" comment to "diatribe" for you. Yes, diatribe, that fits better - thanks for the lesson.

demondeacon,

Your 11/30 post is quite sanctimonious. yvonne, that word means "affecting piousness: hipocritically devout." You are grabbing at anything and saying nothing really. I know, I know from all you blog rule keepers out there, it is ok to come on here and say nothing. Hey yvonne, can you come up with a word that defines "continuously saying nothing on a blog cause it is ok to do that here?"

Folks get frustrated when they can't pigeon-hole another - a liberal that wants to conserve, a conservative that thinks there's a place for broad community action, a NeoCon not in favor of wiping out every towel-head east of Gibraltor, a person who equally dislikes Sharpton and Cheney, someone opposed to the death penalty because it does not make economic sense, one who thinks leaving Iraq now is a larger mistake than going into Iraq in the first place ....
