I sure would like to open some eyes and ears. It's a miserable feeling to have a toothache and not be able to get some help in an emergency. Our hospitals have such help for medical problems. We have many urgent care stations for medical problems. Most have a 24-hour service, but you can't have help for dental pain. If you don't have a family dentist, you can't be seen for weeks. You're on the outside looking in.
It certainly would be nice to know what to do when such occasions occur. Maybe it could be possible, if a few dentists could rotate turns to help, to form a dental urgent care hospital. What's your opinion?

Almost every dentist I've called on the weekend has an emergency contact number where they partner up with other dentists to provide service during off-hours.
A dental emergency may be painful, but not likely to kill you. If it was, you'd go to a hospital emergency room. (Which, by the way, will cost you about a $200 co-pay on top of the other costs)

how many dentists do you really believe will work on your teeth on a saturday or a sunday or friday at 8 pm . at least at a price that wont cost you a years pay check ? I often wonder why some of the local dentists dont work on weekends & at night . Perhaps they could have slightly higher rates for night work, Most dentists only work monday - thursday , on that same note, the health dept is closed on Wednesday , if a resident discovers they have an std such as the clap, or Gonorrhea or Syphilis ,the health dept is closed on Wednesday , & they only see patients by appointment with a 2 day wait in most cases , Maybe this is why guilford has a very high std rate. one of the highest in the usa , I think they should be open 24/7 , they could have 1 nurse & 1 security guard at all times. Oh yea, the comment about a co pay, not every 1 has good or even any health insurance, plus most people dont have dental insurance.
