I would like to know why the American taxpayers should send a dime to a country such as Lebanon that supports and bows to terrorism. Let the Iranians and Syrians rebuild the country. They supplied the weapons that made the war possible. If they won the war, as they claim, why is there any need for funds to rebuild?
Iran should step in with foreign aid if it wants to be the king of the roost and accept the responsibility of being a superpower, which is another name for unlimited international welfare.
With investors leaving Lebanon, knowing that it is impossible to protect their interests with terrorists running the country, it still makes me wonder why the news media were so stupid as to believe Israel lost that war. We should vote every politician out of office who votes to send foreign aid to a terrorist country except for catastrophes of nature and any who will not vote to protect our borders.

Hey LTE Writter: Does this also apply to Pakistan and Iraq and a dozen other coutries?
PS. Iran already has stepped in with foreign aid ... using unlimited international welfare as a way to "gain clientele", you know like the Dem's do with po' folk and Rep's do with rich folk .. sorry, I meant to say wealth redistribution.

JDR,
I agree that the Dems practice wealth redistribution through their policies. If they return to power in the congress, you can bet that your taxes will increase (not just the "rich" folk). They've made it clear that Americans don't pay enough taxes. As you know the progressive tax system is just a form of wealth redistribution.

Guys the American tax payer has been passing out welfare all over the world for almost a century now, so this isn't new. The Dems however pass it out for nothing hoping the world will "love" us. Whereas the Reps insist on getting something in return for our money. In the case of money to Lebanon (read that Hezbollah) the tax payer is helping them to re-arm so as to again attack Isreal. Isreal will again strike back, but this time as they should and take out Iran and Syria. Israel has always done the world's dirty work in the Middle East. Then of course received the world's two faced condemnation for it.

An issue I can agree with Ken on; no money for Lebanon. Of course, he did not go nearly far enough. No money for Israel, Pakistan, Iraq, Afganistan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France or ____ (you fill in the country). In fact, no money for other countries at all; not until we can support ourselves. WE (the USA) are living on borrowed money, giving borrowed money to other countries and waging war on borrowed money. That makes us so far into debt to China, we may as well all be learning Chinese. Get a jump-start on pleasing our new dictator.

Letter fails to distinguish between Hezbollah and the Lebanese govt, which is incredibly weak but about the best hope for a decent govt in the region. If we cut off the govt, that strengthens Hezbollah.
