« State should accelerate schedule for new school | Main | Schools look to churches for refuge after the fire »

Public thinks carefully before approving bonds

The voters of Greensboro appear to have chosen thoughtfully on what items they passed in the bond vote. They are tired of being told what they need by the same tired old cheerleaders who happily pile on more debt obligations for the taxpayers to fund their pet projects. Ego massaging is OK, but not with the public's money.

Councilwoman Dianne Bellamy-Small should be given accolades for leaking the report on the police department investigation. There is too much secrecy in our government, starting with the president and flowing down to the local councils and boards.

~Sure~ she does. ;-)

Re: The Editor's note:

Anyone notice how this matter has been totally dropped and forgotten by the N&R and other media? Where's further investigation? If a killer's fingerprints are the only ones found on the murder weapon, it's pretty certain beyond a reasonable doubt that he/she did it regardless of how much they deny it. Sorry but imo, solid evidence trumps denial. Bellamy-Small may not have been the one to actually leak the document, but she is responsible because
1) It was HER document that evidence shows was the leaked copy.
2) Because the document was in HER possession, she was responsible for securing it. She obviously failed to do so.

IMO, if she didn't actually leak the report, she knows who did!

Had the skin colors been reversed, my bet is Bellamy-Small would STILL be hounded by the media.
