This message is not for people obsessed with revenge, terrorists or religious fanatics. Rather, it is intended for all who believe in intercessory prayer. To bless those who would destroy us is not easy. But an intervention is imperative because vengeance is futile. It only causes a vicious cycle.
Each new generation is the hope of the world. Now is the time to begin.
A few random minutes a day would not be adequate. This would entail a regular, concentrated effort by everyone involved.
It takes time, but unconditional love inevitably conquers hate. Incredible transformations have occurred through persistent prayers.
Jesus said, "Love your enemies. Bless those who persecute you."

When all of the infidels have been eradicated, who will pray for intercession?
I have unsuccesfully tried to find some reference to a time when unconditional love conquered hate.
Remember, the Q'ran defines peace as an absence of infidels.
Peace through superior firepower- it's not just a slogan, it's a reality.
The Old Testament can teach us much about the war we are engaged in.
Oh, and Miriam, I am not obsessed with the ideas you presuppose, I'm obsessed with keeping Christ's teachings available for the rest of recorded time.

"A few random minutes a day would not be adequate."
It would be a good start, though!
I personally do not believe that human's have it within themselves to unconditionally love one another no matter how much concentration and effort they put forth. So, I'm okay with the random acts of kindness.

Some, it seems, do not want peace.

Denzien, what would give you that idea?
I believe this LTTE writer proposes a wonderful idea.
However, as can be seen from postings made, not everyone is willing to MAKE the effort/s required. Regardless of this, I strive to love people of that mindset.

Ms. Caviness, it's a beautiful sentiment, and unconditional love can do wonders. However, I must agree with W J Ellis: it doesn't conquer all. Pure, unconditional love requires nearly-perfect (if not absolutely perfect) people. I don't know many people like that. There are a few that meet those qualifications, most of the rest of us who are okay, and a few that are downright evil.
Upbringing can make many people better or worse. However, there are a few very good people who had horrible upbringings and a few very bad people who had very good childhoods. Nature, as well as nurture, helps to determine a person's morality.
Please forgive us poor schlumps who can't live up to this standard. Most of us are doing the best we can.
