I recommend replacing ailing Tony Snow with Laurie Bush. I believe she could get out the love-Bush message even better than he does.
Seriously, Johnson / Robertson, whom ever - is this the upper level of your LTE's?

I thought Rosie WAS Dean in drag.

You'd have to add a few pillows under Dean's clothes to match Rosie's girth.
Rosie: 9/11 was an inside job to protect Enron and other corporations.

If I were a lib I'd be horrified that an idiot like Rosie represents the kook fringe left on a network channel five days a week.
Some of you lefties mock at conservative televangelists, they can't hold a candle to this stuff.

I'm with JDR on this. Waste of ink.
Here's the standard retort to such a high level letter.
OH YEAH!

If the letter were written this way would you consider it a waste of ink?
Replace Duncan with Ann
I recommend replacing Mike Duncan as Republican National Committee chairman with Ann Coulter. I believe she could get out the anti-Hillary message even better than he does.

Honestly Dan,
Do you really think we are such a bunch of kneejerk reactionaries?
Besides anything mentioning Ann Coulter (or Rosie) is a waste of ink.

Not at all Rufus, you guys are clear thinkers.
Just one point, Rosie is a far left loon, I hope you will admit that. Problem is, she is broadcast on ABC, a "mainstream network", five days a week. Imagine, well hell would freeze over first, if Ann Coulter or Pat Roberson were broadcast on ABC five days a week!!
I'm sure some love her, but methinks such shrill bombastic behaviour from a left wing loon like Rosie on ABC can't help the cause of Democrats.
Personally, I wouldn't want Ann Coulter or Pat Roberson in the same place. Not good for the party.

Dan,
Your last post makes a really good point. But I gotta agree with the others and question printing such a letter.

Sometime, I have a tendency to forget that O'Donnell, Coulter and Robertson are, first and foremost, ENTERTAINERS. They do not make policy, they have no authority, they cannot pass laws. Therefore, the more bombastic they are, the higher the ratings. The higher the ratings, the more the money pours in. Etc.
Some bemoan Barbara Walters' loss of credibility as a "serious journalist" by putting O'Donnell on her show, "The View." I dare say Ms. Walters could not care less about that so long as the ratings are high and the money rolls in. After all, Walters is also an entertainer ... nothing more, nothing less.
If you doubt it, in your mind, replace O'Donnell with a similarly inclined bore ... maybe Janet Reno or Madeleine Albright. Can you now picture the sponsors of "The View" jumping ship? I certainly can.

I agree with your point, Jack. They are all entertainers, as are Rush and Bill, and as such, they will say or do anything to up their ratings...they are laughing all the way to the bank. What is sad is that many folks I deal with believe Rush and Bill, and form their views based on their messages. We should all listen to many news sources, research "facts", and do a little common sense thinking.

Yes indeed, Carol. Sean, Alan (Colmes), Bill, Al (Franken), Rush, Al (Gore) are ALL in the entertainment industry. Way too many people take their pronouncements as "The Blunt Truth." When, in fact, it is only by grandiloquent hyperbole that can they attract audience share.
And you're right about the solution, as well. BUT ... listening, researching and thinking is HARD WORK. Much easier to sit back, flip on the tube and "download" ones opinions from a "talking head" on TV.
A pity.

I'm out of the country for ten days and upon my return I see NOTHING has changed! Neocon and Dan still represent the fringe of the right, but think they are mainstream! Comedy writers couldn't come up with better material than "Spic 'n Span" give us right here on the N&R blog!

Oh my Demon Deacon is back from another world travel, let the bombthrowing begin. I hope you enjoyed your trip, I sure did.
I guess my thinking Rosie is a left wing loon is out of the mainstream as you state. Didn't see anyone else disagree with that statement except you. Maybe you subscribe to Rosie's opinion that 9/11 was an inside job by our govt., mainstream you are Demon Deacon.
This one isn't quite archivable quality, but I'm sure you'll come up with something soon.

Dan,
I guess you are one of those who believe Murphy Brown is a real person too? Entertainers are entertainers--when you make Rosie's comments "YOUR" talking points, then it is you my friend, who is out of the mainstream. While you and your compadre (neocon) are taken by celebrity, the rest of the world just yawns. Create your strawmen and destroy them if that makes you feel empowered.
By the way, Philicia Rashad is NOT Bill Cosby's real life wife. (LOL!)

Demon Deacon: "Entertainers are entertainers--when you make Rosie's comments "YOUR" talking points, then it is you my friend, who is out of the mainstream. "
If they are all entertainers as you say, Demon Deacon, then shut your mouth about O'Reilly, Hannity, Rush, Ann Coulter et. al. No more comments Demon Deacon, they are simply entertainers. I'll archive that quote and use it as necessary when you bitch and whine about right wing "entertainers".

Poor little Danny seems bent out of shape when his ridiculous strawmen are
exposed--he's resorted to his "stalking", archives etc. Danny, grow up. This article wasn't worth printing yet you take it so seriously it makes everyone question your sanity.

"Poor little Danny"
"Danny, grow up."
What's that about growing up? Calling a grown man named Dan "little Danny"?
