« Columnist ignored costs of fighting war in Iraq | Main | Whom do you believe, Supreme Court or NRA? »

New Bennett president a mean-spirited leftist

Bennett College has a fine leader in retiring President Johnnetta Cole. She is a refined and smart lady with elegance who will be badly missed. Her replacement, Julianne Malveaux, is anything but that. She is a nasty, foul-mouthed ultra-liberal and leftist who never has anything good to say, just continues to cut individuals and groups down. She is like a mean-spirited black Molly Ivins.

Although Malveaux doesn't start work at Bennett until June 1, her pronouncement preceded her appearance. She said that the Duke University students accused in the rape case were hooligans and did not deserve any apologies at all.

The News & Record said it well when reporting her comments and noted, "She ought to choose how she expresses those views a lot more thoughtfully and carefully." Leopards don't change their spots, nor will she change her foul mouth. I have read her columns for years and know what to expect.

Bennett College, you deserved another great leader. You could have done much better. Could you have done worse? I doubt it.

Al,
You get the double "Whammy"....two things you obviously abhhor. An intelligent woman who happens to also be black. Thank you for giving the Republican response.

Come on LC, even you can not deny that the lady is on the extreme conspiracy theory left and a complete race baiter. Do that "google" thing you encourage other people to use for research and check out some of the looney stuff she has espoused. By the way, being "educated" does not make you intelligent and being black does not give anyone a pass to be a racist.

I agree pretty much with this LTTE except for the Molly Ivins comment. Otherwise, it is relatively accurate.

Al, had you stayed on the Malveaux thought without adding in the Ivins comment, your LTTE would have been MUCH more valid. Instead, insulting one because of dislike to speak truthfully about another took away from that validity. Keep trying, you are getting there!

Shalom

Darryl – I agree with you. Regardless of what you thought of Molly Ivans’ opinions (she is recently deceased), they were based on numerous meticulously researched facts. This is probably why she was so vilified by the right.

However, Malveaux’s comments regarding the Duke Lacrosse players were made without, and in spite of, the known facts. If she is indeed an intelligent woman, apparently it doesn’t extend to her common sense.

I agree with many things said within this post, but Al seems to be "threatened" by this woman. She poses no real threat, unless you subscribe to the conservative "conspiracy" theories.

In the artical in the N&R today she admits to attending black Panther meetings.
I am just curios if a whit person had attended a klan meeting they would get the same Pass?
