Yvonne Johnson is color-blind. If elected, she would become the first African American to hold the position of mayor of Greensboro. Not once have I heard her refer to that obvious fact. Sure, she's aware that she would make history, but that's not her goal.
She wants to be mayor for all the people. She believes in this city and its citizens, but more importantly, she needs us to believe in her.
Yvonne has an attitude of gratitude. She is a uniter, not a divider. To be a good leader, you must learn first to be a good follower. Yvonne understands and welcomes the opportunity and challenges to continue to serve the public. She once said that this is her time, and I'm inclined to believe her.
When I hear the words "honesty," "integrity” and "strong leadership,” I immediately think of Yvonne Johnson.

I usually rant and rave about ego exploding, self-centered, power starved politicians. Yvonne Johnson is a true classical professional Lady. If all other politicians would follow her lead of professionalism, community service, love of all fellow people, politics could become an honest profession! I've known Yvonne a long time and I'm honored to consider us to be friends. I hope Yvonne is the next Mayor of Greensboro. And, I really hope other politicians will take her example and adapt her ideals. Make Yvonne, Mayor - make Greensboro, better! The Dog's outa here

"When I hear the words "honesty," "integrity" and "strong leadership",I immediately think of Yvonne Johnson."
That's funny. When I hear the name Yvonne Johnson, I immediately think of Project Homestead.

First of all...shame on "nitpicker!" Why bring up old bones, when you haven't even strengthened the bones you have. You included, just like me, are responsible for the issues with Project Homestead. Don't just pick on a person, who like the rest of us, were misled, misinformed, and all the other venom that YOU would spew to severe your non-responsibility as a "concerned citizen."
I believe that Yvonne, will be a leader of caution, a leader with experience, with a sound agenda for all the people of this community. Too many times, we rush to make judgements without looking at the total picture. A leader looks to its' people, for the strength that is needed to
bring about the dreams and visions that we all may have. A leader shares those concerns, and takes the necessary actions that are and will be needed in order, that all of us may benefit from it's works.
I believe in Yvonne Johnson, and the vision she has humbled herself to commit to the people of Greensboro.
I know, that when we elect her as our next mayor, we will see that this community no longer belongs to the old regime, and that her leadership will open the "gated city" to new and more resourceful
ideas, and will insure that it will be implemented for the betterment of this city.

I disagree that I'm responsible for Project Homestead. I certainly did not pressure anybody to not investigate or cover up the misdeeds done there.
You may believe in Yvonne Johnson but I don't. Her 14 years of service don't impress me. I see her as part of the problem. Just business as usual and maintaining the status quo.
