Nah. Apparently we're going to run out of year before we run out of storms.

Maybe you should tell that to the Governor and all his economic development cronies - before they dredge the Cape Fear River and build a giant seaport at Southport. Of course, what happened in New Orleans and southern Louisiana holds no lessons for North Carolina.

It's bad enough that the entire, very fragile barrier-island coast is a frenzied feeding ground for get-rich-quick realtors . . . but forecasters say that we've got up to fifty years of nastybad storms coming our way . . . with the potential to make Floyd and Katrina look like tea parties.

When all of those gadzillion-dollar homes are matchsticks in the graveyard of the Atlantic, and home-owners want the government to bail them out . . . what will Governor "Easily" say then?

I suppose lame ducks can swim though.
