Pardon our cyberdust
We're finally in the process of moving a bunch of things on our site, such as our blogs, to new hosting. Once the move is finished, we'll be better off from a number of standpoints. And with any luck, you'll never notice anything wrong during the move.
But as we know, "any luck" is too much luck to count on when matters technical are at play.
So: If you spot anything wrong on the site -- graphical weirdness, busted links, whatever -- let me know.

Hi Lex, 2 questions:
> ...moving a bunch of things on our site, such as our blogs, to new hosting.
1. Will existing permalinks continue to work?
2. And if not -
(or, as a thought experiment, supposing not) -
How would y'all feel if "lost-in-the-move" N&R blog-or-news-or-comment content got 'mirrored' (aka 'restored') somewhere else? (say, by a blogger who still wanted to be able to link to the old content)
(Assume that, legally, the blogger couldn't do so if you objected.)
Sorry to stick you with the hard questions, but since you guys seem to be the ones most willing to answer them...
thanks
Anna in Calif
(and yes, 'the strangest feeling of deja vu' is appropriate here :-)

Anna: As I understand it, existing permalinks of our blog posts should continue to work (the possibility of a brief breakdown during the transition notwithstanding). Charlie/Stephen, if I'm wrong, feel free to jump in here.
What might no longer work would be some links from within our blog posts to N&R articles. We can restore them manually if need be, although that priority would have to compete with all others for our time, of course.
