Truth? Reconciliation? Bueller?

As I continue work on an article examining the issues of conspiracy and intentionality raised by the Truth & Reconciliation report, a rigorous discussion -- 39 comments, as I type this -- of what should happen as a result of the report is going on over at Ed Cone's place. Like Ed, I think Mr. Sun's comment in that thread is of particular interest. In fact, it seems to be the one point anyone in the thread has made so far around which there has been much agreement, although the notion that p. 382 should be excised from the report may be coming up fast in the stretch.

Lex,

I would love to hear what u think about the GTRC lying and pushing half truths on page 382...they are guilty of doing what they claim to fight against....truth seeking and resistance....I will check back often..please also let your readers know about your thoughts of not including the KKK in the report recipient phase.

Lex said:

Sure, Ben, if you'll tell me what specific points on p. 382 you're referring to.

Re the Klan: Did the commission ask the Klan if it wished to be a report recipient? (I'm late to the game, so some stuff that's well known among people who've been following the issue closely is new to me.) Thanks.

the commission did not ask the klan to be recipients until I had called Virgil and discussed the idea with him. After I did that, I contacted the GTRC and they said they would send him a report. To answer your question better...yes the comission did ask Virgil and his group to be recipeints...thanks to me.

I should also reprot that I did not call Virgil until the week of the report release ceremony..that is when I realized he had not been contacted in any way by the GTRC since he gave his statement.

Well, I'm reading the "pseudo" post right now, and once I get past Point #1, I'm having a hard time making sense of it. Perhaps I need more coffee.
