Today's political lesson ...

... courtesy of Fox News' John Gibson, and edited for length:

Ned Lamont = Pol Pot

But, hey, at least it's fair and balanced.

I think he was referring to Moore and the xtreme left wingers threatening Lieberman type Dems. And it is a fact that our pulling out of Nam allowed Pol Pot to commit genocide.

Yep, if you have morals, ethics, or a conscience, there's no room for you in the Democratic Party.

"Get out, Joe, we need more room for people who're blinded by hate for George Bush. You're only mesmerized."

These newfound Republican defenders of Lieberman crack me up. I'm sure his morals, ethics and conscience convinced them to vote for him in 2000.

Lex said:

I know what he was referring to, Chip. Just to be clear, you're saying it's OK for Gibson to compare a political candidate to a mass murderer?

jaycee said:

Lex, take a look at how many prominent people have compared President Bush to Hitler.

Where's your outrage when our President is attacked???

Lex said:

I blogged about that -- critically, negatively -- more than a year ago over on my personal blog, jaycee. I don't feel the need to repeat myself every so often.

Moreover, it's one thing when some no-name blogger does it. It's another when a nationally known news anchor does it.

jaycee said:

No, Lex, it's only of interest to you when someone affiliated with FOX does it.
Partial list of "nationally known" personalities/lefties who also did it:
George Soros
Fidel Castro
Ayatollah Khamenei
Linda Ronstadt
Scott Ritter

Lex said:

Oh, yeah, because Fidel Castro and Khamenei and Linda Ronstadt have so much more influence over Americans than a Fox News anchor.

As for Soros and Ritter, you got links?

Lex said:

On second thought, forget it. Shorter jaycee: "It's OK if people *I* like say it."

jaycee said:

I posted the link, Lex, don't you read your own blog?

Lex said:

Soros wasn't saying Bush = Hitler, he was saying Bush rhetoric = Nazi rhetoric. And given the examples, he provides, like it or not that's true on it's face.

As for Ritter's comparison of the Iraq invasion to Germany's invasion of Poland (NOT Bush to Hitler), as he points out, they were both illegal invasions "justified" by fabricated premises.

So, sorry, but neither is comparing Bush to Hitler and both comparisons are objectively valid.

And who cares what Linda Ronstadt thinks?
