Random thoughts on fair food and football
So I'm researching for a post about fair food, and it occurs to me that I wouldn't want to heat any oil in my house to 375 degrees to fry stuff because of the risk of harm to my skin and/or home. Then I'm reminded that hot oil was used as a medieval defensive weapon. And I wonder, do you think they fried their funnel cakes or blooming onions in it before they poured it on their enemies? And then I'm reminded what a sick puppy I am.

This will be a perfect complement to my football-shaped container for beer. No, I'm serious. Got it at the "Four Queens" casino in Las Vegas a few years back.
So despite what the advertising slogan says, not everything stays in Las Vegas.

I'm disturbed by all of this. College football is big in half my household -- really, just my husband -- but I don't think I could allow this into my house. Now, a baseball-shaped cooler or cooker ...
