Mel's Kitchen

« Baby, you're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration | Main | Back in the kitchen, doing some housecleaning, and buttering up Darth Vader »

If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life ...

... what would it be?

I'm going out of town for a couple of days, so I'm throwing that out there for everyone to chew on. I look forward to reading your responses when I return on Thursday!

As for me, I think it would have to be pizza. You've got your bread, your cheese, your tomatoes, and your meat. You could scrape one or any ingredient off to create something new every day :-)

Bananas!

No matter what I picked, I'd get sick of it after a while. At least eating bananas will not lead to any nutritional deficits (so chocolate is out).

No question: Bread. I'm hoping that in this scenario I'd have access to a variety of breads (caramel rolls, focaccia, biscuits, etc) but even if it were straight-up white bread, as long as it were fresh from the oven, I'd never wish for anything else. Except, maybe, a stick of butter.

(Coming in at a close second are Pop-Tarts. And cheese is my No. 3.)

Rice. You can add to it, make it spicy or bland, turn it into an entree or a side dish, even make a dessert out of it. It's inexpensive, and it stores well. What more can you ask out of food?
