I hate cilantro

Cilantro.jpg

I know it's against News & Record policy for me to take a stand and express my controversial opinions, but I just can't stand it any more. I have to speak out.

I hate cilantro.

There. I've said it. It tastes like soap.

Finally, there is a Web site for people like me: IHateCilantro.com

Here's a sample of haiku from other haters on the Web site:

You look like parsley
Really, you are cilantro
You taste like evil

***

These are all good herbs:
Basil, parsley, tarragon.
Die, Cilantro, die

I hate it too. I think I am allergic and the reaction is pretty bad. How about coriander?

Hi. When I saw the title "I Hate Cilantro", i clicked on it in disbelief, wondering how anyone could hate my favorite herb. I too bought cilantro that tasted like soap--exactly once! It tasted so horrendously chemical that I was forced to return it to the grocery store. But every other cilantro experience I've had has been exquisite. Maybe you're the victim of a bad supplier?

Mel said:

Maybe, but I usually don't like it when I get it in restaurant salsas or whatnot, either. So I think I just don't like it :) Ground coriander, I have no problem with. I think they are different parts of the plant, so that could be it.

A handful of cilantro = a grated bar of hand soap.
