Joined Weight Watchers today
I've been thinking about it for a while now, but turns out my sugar count was higher than it should have been at my doctor's visit this morning. Given the fact that my family is full of diabetics, I need to do something about it.
I'm going to try the online thing for three months to see if I can stick with it. I've got a couple gals in the office who have done it and are willing to help me make the adjustments.
Just for giggles, I plugged my veggie chili recipe into the tracker, and it turns out that if you say 1 gallon = 10 servings (about 1.6 cups per serving), then each serving equals 3 points. Given that they say I get 31 points a day, that's not too bad, I don't think. I'll let you know in a few weeks when I've been doing this for a while.
Any tips or tricks from people who have been down this road before?

Good luck Melissa.
I've just dropped 17.5 lbs. in a little over 6 weeks with Weight Watchers. I love it.
I have a friend who has lost 58 lbs. in about 14 weeks.
Vegetables, vegetables, vegetables!
That's been the key for me. That, and watching the quantities that I'm used to eating.
I hope you do well with it Melissa.

Good luck with Weight Watchers! A lot of people have told me that their system worked for them.
I'm just sad that since I'm dieting too that I missed the day the Diet Coke cake was here. :(
But I guess I'll just have to try and make it myself, a prospect I find more intimidating than dieting.
And hey - if you get a chance, post some yummy low-calorie recipes. When it comes to cooking I need all the help I can get!
