I caught the latest edition of VH1's "Remaking" this weekend. Have you seen this one?
The show which first madeover Vince Neil before the current Motley Crue tour, decided to take on Rob Van Winkle - aka Vanilla Ice.
So, Vanilla Ice signs up to be on the show, but then refuses to take part in most of the "parts" of the show.
How about a new hairstyle? "No, thanks."
How about a new wardrobe? "No, thanks."
How about some trust classes? "Not interested."
How about some new lyrics? "New music, ok. New lyrics, no thanks."
How about a better stage presence? "No thanks."
Of course, his response was more often, "I don't want to throw you under a bus...."
So, the show was fairly entertaining, but drew mixed emotions.
In the beginning, I was thinking, "Give the guy another chance. If he truly was a 'creation of the industry' he deserves a second shot." And I wanted him to come out with a really great song.
In the end, it was just Rob Van Winkle. He didn't want to change. He didn't want another chance. He just wanted an hour on VH1, or so it seems.
I was left with one question - "Why did he sign up to be on the show, if he didn't want to participate?"
If you watched the show, let me know your thoughts.
