« CD Review: System of a Down "Mezmerize" | Main | No outdoor music park? »

New albums this week

Here's a look at some of the albums coming out tomorrow:

Audioslave - "Out of Exile" - It's not Rage Against the Machine or Soundgarden, but the band has their own identity which is pretty good. I was more impressed by "Cochise" than some of the slower ballads on their self-titled debut, but I was impressed all the same. Chris Cornell has a great voice and Tom Morello's guitar riffs are hard to beat.

Nikka Costa - "Can'tneverdidnothing" - I always saw potential in Costa's funky pop music, but she's never caught on to the masses. Of course, I've never heard an entire album of hers, so maybe there's a reason for that.

Bruce Dickinson - "Tyranny of Souls" - Is he anything without Iron Maiden?

Seether - "Karma and Effect" - This band had some potential, but fell off the radar screen a while back. Their new album could bring them back to the spotlight. Check them out in Winston-Salem in early June.

Sleater-Kinney - "The Woods" - One of those Pacific Northwest bands that people either love or don't understand. They're also playing Winston in the near future.

New York? Sleater-Kinney? You might want to check your map - NY is nowhere near their home turf of Olympia, Washington.

Coming Soon

I'm sad to say the Musical Garbage Can will be leaving GoTriad on or about March 23. It will go back to its original home at Blogspot here. Thank you for your continued support!
