Here's a look at this week's new releases, and, of course, those bands with animal names:
Common "Be" (Instrumental version) - I like the first single from Common, but that's probably because it has lyrics and is kind of catchy. Is this an album for the karaoke crowd?
Alice Cooper "Dirty Diamonds" - Alice's act may have grown to be a little tired, but he's still a performer at heart and a heck of an interviewee. I'll see if I can find the time to review this new album in the near future.
Bruford "Tapes" - Not to be confused with an album by Bill Bruford's Earthworks, which is also releasing an album on Tuesday. Wow - that's a popular band name.
Faith Hill "Fireflies" - I'm sure this will be a big seller, even if it isn't a mainstream album. Like Shania Twain, she's got a big fan base and people will buy the album just because it has her name on it.
Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz "Crunk Juice" - Is anyone else tired of the word "crunk"? Lil Jon gets paid way too much money to sit around and say, "Yeahhhh," so here's another album with more of the same stuff.
This week's animal bands: Animal Liberation Orchestra; Electric Eel Shock; Impotent Sea Snakes (DVD)
