Here's a look at some of this week's new releases:
Ryan Cabrera "Live at the Wiltern" - If you're not 14 and female, and buying this album because "you think he's cute," you need to take a good, long look in the mirror.
The Darkness "One Way Ticket to Hell...and Back" - The Darkness' 15 minutes ended about 6 months ago, once people realized that they were more annoying than talented.
INXS "Switch" - It's not Michael Hutchence, it's J.D. Fortune. Oh...yippee.... I still don't know how he won that contest.
Dave Matthews Band "Weekend on the Rocks" - More live shows from Red Rocks. It's jammy, but not enough to make you want to twirl.
Shakira "Oral Fixation 2" - Now, in English...
As always, the bands with animal-related names releasing albums this week (nonstop since July 12) - NONE! The streak ends at 20 weeks.
The new trend - bands with "evil" names releasing albums this week: 13 Ghosts, The Darkness, Rancid Vat

Picked up the new INXS CD, Switch, yesterday and was pleasantly suprised. Fortune's voice fits well with the overall sound. Afterglow will be a major hit. So much of today's 'new' music is awful, so I welcome the comeback by these relics whose sound still gets your feet tapping. Looking forward to seeing these guys in Charlotte in February since I missed out on them the first time around. RIP Hutchence, who really could never be replaced, but welcome JD and best wishes for this deserved comeback from a band who made me hit the accelerator more than once!
