TV Review: Love Monkey

Sure the name of the show sounds kinda goofy, until you understand its meaning.

Love Monkey is about Tom Farrell (Tom Cavanagh), an A&R rep for a record label and his troubles with love.

Thus the title - if you're swinging from relationship to relationship like a monkey....

Anyway, Farrell is working for a major label, when he realizes it should be about the music, not the money. You guessed it - those comments get him fired.

So he's now working for an indie label and trying to sign "Wayne."

If you saw the show, Wayne is actually Teddy Geiger who was signed to Columbia Records last year at age 17.

Geiger's Wayne is a John Mayer-type singer who actually sounds pretty talented, just based on the show.

In summary, it's not too heavy on the music and record label side, but enough to keep me interested.

It's on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. - check it out.

I'm sad to say the Musical Garbage Can will be leaving GoTriad on or about March 23. It will go back to its original home at Blogspot here. Thank you for your continued support!
