Earlier this year, I wrote a few articles about Chris Daughtry and his path through "American Idol."
I interviewed him a few times and was even part of his homecoming celebration in McLeansville.
During his homecoming, we had lunch at the Brightwood Inn. Why? "Because the only thing famous about McLeansville is that Elvis ate at the Brightwood Inn."
While reading the latest edition of Spin magazine (The Killers are on the cover), I read an interview with Chan Marshall - better known as Cat Power.
One of her first sentences:
"In fourth grade I lived by this tobacco field on the edge of a town called McLeansville, North Carolina..."
It looks like the small town has another reason to be proud.
