As I'm looking over the schedule for the Cat's Cradle, I had to do a double-take:
Squirrel Nut Zippers at the Cradle on Feb. 8.
According to fellow music blogger David Menconi, it's true - the band will reunite for a handful of shows early next year.
Menconi says the band will have Jimbo Mathus, Katherine Whalen, bassist Stu Cole and others.
Tom Maxwell and Ken Mosher will not be a part of the gig, he addds.
The band hasn't played since 2000, so it's a big surprise. (Also because Whalen and Mathus divorced a few years back.)
Pollstar.com lists shows in Atlanta, Ga., and Annapolis, Md., in February and ticketmaster.com lists a show in Alexandria, Va.
Let's hope it happens!
