« 2006 Garbage Can Awards | Main | Spears' album doomed? »

A New Year's Request

There's not much in the way of new music this week.

Instead, I'd like to make just one quick wish...something that everyone in the music business can adhere to easily.

A New Year's Resolution for the music company masses:

No more mediocre music.

For the bands, from the fans, for everyone involved... Give us good music.

Throw the yodeling out the window, put the generic gangsta rap on the side, get Lil John to scream something other than "Yeah!" while holding a pimp cup, give me a quartet that can simply rock the masses, let emo sit at home and cry.

Stop trying to sell to the masses your Nickelback pop, and give me music that means something.

Give me music that I'm not tired of after hearing the song three times.

Give me music that makes me scream out - "Check out this band!!!!" or "That song is incredible!!"

We've been waiting for "the next Nirvana" for far too long. Come out of hiding. Now, is the time.

Well....

I'm waiting....

Coming Soon

I'm sad to say the Musical Garbage Can will be leaving GoTriad on or about March 23. It will go back to its original home at Blogspot here. Thank you for your continued support!
