« Idol men sing tonight | Main | The reason for the shaved head? »

"American Idol" - The Men

OK, so "American Idol" kicked off last night with the top 12 men singing.

I wondered if anyone would stand out, and after two hours of average singing I got my answer, "No."

There's no Taylor Hicks. There's no Chris Daughtry. As expected, the only memorable performance - mildly memorable - was Chris Sligh.

I usually give contestant-by-contestant comments, but no one stood out.

Rudy Cardenas wasn't enunciating, Brandon Rogers and "Sundance" Head were both weak vocally, Paul Kim has too much vibrato and Chris Richardson started in the wrong key.

Nick Pedro was whispering, Blake Lewis had no personality, Sanjaya Malakar was boring, Jared Cotter hit some bad notes, AJ Tabaldo was off-key, Phil Stacey was just ok.

I found myself agreeing with Simon Cowell all night.

The song choices were also horrible.

Let's hope the girls show some kind of talent, or it's going to be a long, long season.

Coming Soon

I'm sad to say the Musical Garbage Can will be leaving GoTriad on or about March 23. It will go back to its original home at Blogspot here. Thank you for your continued support!
