Doug! I am starting to think I am watching a Law and Order TV show made in Greensboro. First the new DA fires another DA in a New York heartbeat and now the former police chief office was located in a instant print shop. Can we expect former Senator Fred Thompson the actor to call a press conference on the courthouse steps saying that he is running for President of the United States in order to clean up Greensboro? dum dum

Doug,
Here's a guy who has 20+ years of police service. A track record that was so impressive that he was hired as chief of police. Obviously, for this position, was given an excellent "he's our boy" by his peers during the vetting process for the chief's position.
I'm puzzled as to why he had these African-American officers in a portfolio. Except for the fact that he may have been/is anti-black, has there been another reason for his action? Has he spoken to this subject to anyone?
This is very odd behavior coming from this type of highly educated & motivated individual, unless there's something that hasn't presented itself to the light of day.

Jon,
Wray spoke with the city manager about the book but apparently didn't give a satisfactory or credible explanation.
Mitchell Johnson has asked Interim Chief Tim Bellamy to investigate further the purpose and use of the black book.

It is very interesting that very little attention was given to David Wray's letter today to the Media explaining the so-called little black book by WFMY-TV. He is being crucified, not only by Mitchell Johnson, but by the media. I have known David Wray for 25 years - he is the absolute last person to have a "racial profile" list. All of the facts are not know and may never be known because the press is only comletely publishing one side to this - Mitchell Johnson's.
As to the changes, i.e., shift changes, the shifts now are a piece of cake compared to the shifts officers worked 20 years ago! They need to remember why they are there - to protect Greensboro. It's not an easy job and is tough on family life but they know up front what kind of hours the job will be.

I agree much more needs to come out and will.
It's difficult for me to see this as a crucifixion by Mitchell Johnson when it was Johnson who led the process that hired David Wray. Seems to me that Johnson would be one of the last people who wanted to see Wray fall.
