They just don't get it

Here's a brilliant response from an Iranian newspaper. It announced it is seeking cartoons of the Holocaust to test Western tolerance for free expression.

What do the editors of this newspaper, which has links to Iran's idiotic president, expect to happen -- bloody riots throughout the capitals of Western Europe in outrage over cartoons?

The fact is, Islamic newspapers publish anti-Semitic material routinely, without triggering violent demonstrations in protest.

Go ahead and print more. The contrast in reactions will once again drive home the point that irrationality is more prevalent in some cultures these days than in others.

Not just "these days" Doug. We in the West had our moments too. If you will recall the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the reason our forefathers came to the New World, the some times prejudicial actions taken against Catholics and Jews until not so long ago. Yes, we in the West had our fair share of insanity too. Thank any God you give thanks to that we in the West have managed to grow up somewhat. The Middle Eastern peoples are still primitives in just about all ways including their beliefs. I think we should just forgive them and let this tempest, that is taking place after all in their back yards and not ours, just blow itself out.

We could though bombard that Iranian newspaper with cartoons. Just stuff up their e-mail boxes, and with a whole lot of luck give them a virus or two or three!

Brenda, we could send them all back to herding goats and camels and living in caves and huts. After that is done we could turn the rest of the country into a parking lot and build a big Super WalMart. They could have camel races to entertain the goat herders as they came to Wal Mart to buy matches to start camp fires of camel dung. A win win situation for everyone.
