Christian peacemakers shame Islamic terrorists

I doubt this message from Christian Peacemaking Teams makes any sense to the Islamic terrorists responsible for Tom Fox's death:

"We forgive those who consider us their enemies."

But, then, maybe Fox's example can begin to change the hearts of hateful men in a way that further violence can't.

Consider the contrast. One group calling itself "Swords of Righteousness" advances its agenda through kidnapping and murder. One called Christian Peacemaking Teams works through peaceful witness of the gospel.

Yes, CPT members are lambs among wolves ... just as their Lord commanded them.

I know. Evil men will continue to slaughter them and other innocents. Will they ever recognize their own shame in the face of the true faith and devotion exhibited by people like Tom Fox? We have to hope so, because changing hearts is the only way to bring about real peace.

My condolences to the family of this brave man and to the Guilford College community that embraced him with so much love and support. I share their belief that he is now in the eternal care of the God he served with every measure of conviction to the very end of his life.

Nope! Tom Fox was practicing what the early Christians knew when they were march into the arena of the Imperial ancient Roman Empire to prove their faith works. Tom Fox christian faith is a witness for others to follow should they chose to be the true peacemakers of the world as Christ taught.

Doug, What we in the Western Hemisphere are so slow to understand is that the so-called terrorist are indeed following the teaching of Islam. Read the Koran for yourself and you will not be taken in with all this rhetoric about Islam being the religion of love. I left a comment on one of Allen Johnson’s entries yesterday explaining my 45 year study of Islam and Muslims who follow the teachings of the Koran. My personal study is due to a very early and traumatic exposure to their brutality. (It is also on my web site). They are a hateful and cruel and brutal people because their religion is a hateful, brutal and cruel religion. Nothing at all will change their views. Jesus took up the whip and flayed the foul money changers and defilers of His Father’s teachings from the temple. Our modern day whip is the gun. We can continue to die like sheep and God bless those who can do this, but the rest of us need to begin to follow a more realistic path and stand up to the evil and denounce and fight it where we see it.

How to deal with peace activists:

1. Listen politely while this person explains their views. Strike up a conversation if necessary and look very interested in their ideas. They will tell you how revenge is immoral, and that by attacking the people who did this to us, we will only bring on more violence. They will probably use many arguments, ranging from political to religious to humanitarian.

2. In the middle of their remarks, without any warning, punch them in the nose.

3. When the person gets up off of the ground, they will be very angry and they may try to hit you, so be careful.

4. Very quickly and calmly remind the person that violence only brings about more violence and remind them of their stand on this matter. Tell them if they are really committed to a non-violent approach to undeserved attacks, they will turn the other cheek and negotiate a solution. Tell them they must lead by example if they really believe what they are saying.

5. Most of them will think for a moment and then agree that you are correct.

6. As soon as they do that, hit them again. Only this time hit them much harder. Square in the nose.

7. Repeat steps 2-5 until the desired results are obtained and the idiot realizes the stupidity of his/her argument.

8. There is no difference in an individual attacking an unsuspecting victim or a group of terrorists attacking a nation of people. It is unacceptable and must be dealt with. Perhaps at a high cost.

Jaycee,

Shouldn't that be steps 2 and 6 on the repeat part?

Yes, it would, mrproduce. I'm not the original author.
