Play ball
I'm looking forward to attending a few Hoppers games this season. The Park is a great place to hang out.
Did you look at the player bios in Sports today? (Here's the roster on the team Web site.) There are guys from six foreign countries, plus California. Fans will be able to hear baseball chatter in English, Spanish and Australian. What a great game.
It's no surprise to see a couple of players from Venezuela and one each from the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Those countries are baseball factories.
Why are there few, if any, U.S. minor leaguers from Japan? Obviously, baseball has been strong over there for a long time. I guess they develop talent in their own professional leagues, then send some of their best players straight to the Majors.
So, can the Hoppers play? It'd be great if they had a Derek Jeter, Don Mattingly, Andy Pettite, Otis Nixon or Reggie Sanders on the team. But, even if they don't, they're playing baseball. The Park is fun. There's plenty of food and beer. It's spring. Yeah!

You might be able to read a lottery ticket but you can't read or comprehend what Doug wrote. If we have minor leaguers In the US from Venezuela, DR, Australia etc , the question was or is why not from Japan.
He answered the question in the same paragraph , "I guess they develop talent in their own professional leagues, then send some of their best players straight to the Majors."
Maybe you'd better stick to the simple things like lottery tickets, too many words confuse you or it would seem.

I took a time out from studying tonight to go to the season opener for the Winston-Salem Warthogs. They beat the Kinston Indians 4-3 in a nail biter. It was quite a good time. Ernie Shore Field doesn't touch the grasshoppers' stadium, though.

I agree! So when can we expect you to turn in your winning tickets to the world series of powerball of republican politics with the winning Bush agenda in 2006? Have you consider a new career in political hardball yet?

Don't miss a Thirsty Thursday, do you, Ken?
By the way, did you see they're talking about a downtown park in Winston? Not that you'll be around when it's built.

Mack you have got to be the biggest idiot in the whole country. You and Demon Deacon can take anything as simple as minor league baseball and make some stupid, asine political statement about it that has zero, nada to do with the subject.
Why don't you go help the wife loose the election Mack. With your mouth and illogical statements it is no wonder she wants you out of sight during campaign. Ms Justice my foot. What bench did she ever sit on out side of maybe the garden bench. Dang at least my wife would deserve the title since she was a sitting Municipal Court Judge in Eastdale, Texas.
That's my bell jerking for now so I will continue to ignore you idiocy until I decide to jerk your bell again.
