Cooper leaves Perdue as gubernatorial favorite

In more than five years as attorney general, Roy Cooper has been building a pretty good record to carry into a 2008 gubernatorial campaign. But this report says he's decided to seek a third term in his current office.

Despite Treasurer Richard Moore's apparent fundraising prowess, I think Cooper's retreat will give the Democratic nomination to Bev Perdue, who's been lieutenant governor since 2001. She's got a better resume than Moore, and she can be a dazzling campaigner.

Her top issue -- spearheading North Carolina's very successful effort to keep its military installations -- trumps Moore's (raising the minimum wage).

She has to overcome the curse of the lieutenant governors, who have been on a gubernatorial losing streak since Jim Hunt made the jump in 1976. The string of failures includes Jimmy Green, Bob Jordan, Jim Gardner and Dennis Wicker. Gee, I guess that's all of them.

But whoever heard of the state treasurer getting elected governor?

Doug! I bump into the Lt Gov last night by accident at a political meeting. We both were fussing with the ticket counter rep why our campaign credit card was being rejected by the swip machine because we didn't know our Pin numbers. You would think with our name ID we wouldn't have to fight with a party offical who didn't know us from Adam.

I hope not! Credit Card fraud is a tough rap to beat even if you are the Lt Gov. I think it is not her time yet from my personal observation and the playing out of the corruption issue within the democrat party by the end of August and the November election. If my research is correct. The corruption issue is much bigger than the Demo's think and the possible take over by the Republican s is a reality now.

Speaking of 100 dollars checks. I ran into the Speaker also at the meeting. We discuss stress related health issues and hope for clean arties unlike the past Mr Lay.

I can say this. Decker is history and the feds have him making a deal for no jail time.

Lets not also forget that The Lt. Gov. is pretty hot.

She is a nice-looking woman, and she's personable with a very good sense of humor. Attractive qualities.

Cooper's departure from the governor's race doesn't suprise me. If you Google search "Roy Cooper's Fraud" you will see articles that expose Cooper. I have exposed him at www.ncjusticefraud.com for over eight months. I asked Cooper if he had any specific factual objections to the accusations on my site back in Novemebr, 2005, and he never asked for a retraction,or responded in any way.
Judge for yourself.

So you're the one that keeps spamming all the members of the NC Bar with this tripe.

Give it up. Go get some help.

To Mr. Burns

My website, www.ncjusticefraud.com, has accused Roy Cooper of lying to the U.S. Supreme Court for over 9 months now. Cooper has never asked for a retraction. If my allegations were false,Cooper could have sued me for libel a long time ago. Some of my accusations have been published at: www.northcarolinaconservative.com, June 28th, 20006 and July 2nd 2006; and www.theconservativevoice.com, July 4th, 2006. As far as I know, Cooper has never asked them for a retraction. When you search "Attorney General Roy Cooper" my site is usually listed in the results between #7 (Yahoo), #12 (MSN) and #30
(Google). As far as I know, Cooper has never asked those search engines to de-list my site from their results. Cooper and and other ethicaly impaired attorneys are the ones who need help.
Sincerely, Chris Langdon

You're sorely mistaken if you think Richard Moore's track record includes only the minimum wage. He can actually tout a lot more than the Lt. Governor, including Crime Control Secretary that deals with emergency management (remember the floods) and fighting crime. He's been a former prosecutor. And now he has an economic development background as well. You only need to look at Casey giving Santorum a run in PA to realize that the Treasurer's office shouldn't be taken lighting. I'd take that track record over an underachieving Lt. Gov any day.
