A great acquisition
Congratulations to the Easley administration for the agreement to purchase Chimney Rock Park for the state of North Carolina. This will be a terrific addition to the state park system.
Here are some details about the purchase.
... a map of the site ...
... and how about a picture of the Gov up on the rock?
An operational plan for the park is in the works. My guess is it may be necessary to charge admission to the park, as the private owners have done, in order to help pay the considerable maintenance costs. I won't complain if that's the case. Chimney Rock Park, a 30-minute drive from my wife's hometown of Columbus in Polk County, is one of my favorite places in North Carolina.

Great acquisition.
The Governor also needs to purchase land around Boone & Blowing Rock before it becomes a territory of Florida.
The Governor finally does something right.
