Meddling in medical ethics
Sen. Phil Berger's bill, "Execution/Physician Assistance Authorized," is misguided.
It would override the authority of the N.C. Medical Board to enforce its own ethics policies.
Bad move when the legislature tries to dictate medical ethics to the state's top medical authority.
Or is the legislature the state's top medical authority? I hope not.
Here's the news story.

It would seem that the whole process could be obviated by not having a physician involved at all. The whole think could be done by robot- the dose calculation, drug administration and death confirmation.
There is no need medically to involve a human doctor at all.

Exactly. The state will have to write physicians (and probably nurses) out of the process.
