Durham Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Orlando Hudson has 30 days to review the complaint. He said in an interview Friday after a quick look at the document that because many of its allegations follow the State Bar's charges against Nifong, he planned to postpone any decision until the State Bar, which licenses and disciplines lawyers, has completed Nifong's trial, which is set for June.* N&0
It appears that the Judge is in the infamous 4 corner stall that Coach Easley made famous in Durham against the Blue Devils. Don't worry Doug. The Judge really lower the boom the day before, on the two Grand Jurors when he demanded they appear before him and explain why they screw up on National TV by saying Nifong lie to them about the indictment. In Durham, the rush for judgement has two speeds by the legal system.

Connie, I agree that Judge Hudson, a High Point native, appears to prefer a slow-down game on this. I think it's his responsibility to consider the petition expeditiously rather than wait for the State Bar to tell him what he should do.
But then, maybe Gov. Easley can still "unappoint" Nifong, as he said to those NYU law students.

Doug! This reminds me of the movie " History Of The World Part 2" by Mel Brooks where the King says pile on the Queen during the infamous Chess match with real people with the State Bar and Easley being the last to pile on Nifong as a sure thing. Hell, the bar should be investigating Easley for making such a stupid choice to start with and the SBI should be investigating the bar for a late hit in the game.

Not only was Easley's hit late, it was out of bounds.
