Dubai-bye, Miss American Pie: Does Halliburton's move to the United Arab Emirates mean it sees the economic climate, or the political climate, turning chillier in the U.S.? Is Dubai the new Hong Kong?

The trail doesn't end at Jim Black: Rep. Thomas Wright of Wilmington is the next House Democrat under close scrutiny.

Who would have thought: A federal appeals court says the constitutional right to keep and bear arms means you have a right to keep and bear arms.

On the mark: "Reconciliation is not just getting people to accept your version of the truth," author Liz Wheaton says at yesterday's latest Truth & Reconciliation meeting, according to Lex Alexander's story. What a wise and courageous statement.

Is Dubai the new Hong Kong?* Doug

Naw! No way Doug! The new world order would never let a used camel discount store be located there...It's location, location, location Doug!

Shocking! I wager George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson are turning over in their graves after this ruling about the Capital they plan for.

From a techical standpoint. DC was the center point of the United States when founded. Easy access for the States to meet and armed themselves in case the tree of liberty got a Ceasar. Frankly, the Capital should be move to the Center once again.

How about " Two Folks Kansas" sound Doug as the Capital of the United States?

It sounds better than Dubai.

Maybe Haliburton is doing it for tax reasons. They get all that money from the US governement anyway, it's silly just to give a lot of it back.

Smart move.

Halliburton is an oil services company, most of it's customers are in the Middle East. With the Dems all but banning future oil exploration in the US it makes sense from an economic and efficiency standpoint for Halliburton to relocate. I'm surprised they didn't do it sooner. It will remain a US-corporation so no change in the basic tax status.
It's just a good business move.

I think they are going over there and just building a nice big palace so Cheney can live out his exile in peace.

He's just going to do a Republican version of Michael Jackson.

Yes, a retired public servant could live like a sultan in Dubai, beyond the reach of congressional subpoenas.

In reality Doug Dubai has all the comforts of Two Folks Kansas. They have a Starbuckles Cafe run by the Indians of Lumberton County. Michael Jackson preform there for a year until Vegas made him a better offer at Circus Circus with a zoo in the main ring.

By the way! Two folks Kansas turn down the offer to move the United States Capital there. They claim they have a zoo already and didn't need another one.

Uh, doesn't Mr. Hillary Clinton spend a lot of time in Dubai and do work for their government? Doug's comment could apply here.

Mr. Hillary Clinton also has a scholarship program that sponsors U.S. students into Dubai, since it's such a great and safe place. This was going on while Hillary Clinton was screaming and shaking her fist in Congress about those terrorists in Dubai who wanted to take over our ports and KILL EVERY DAMN ONE OF US.

It seems that after more than 200 years, we still have people trying to give the words of the constitution new meaning. This phrase seems clear to me. But, in the tradition of our Supreme Court and eminent domain, they'll find new meaning in this phrase.

And, who are they fooling when the say that crime will increase under this ruling? D.C. is one of the most dangerous cities in the country now. Criminals already have their guns. They won't go to get a gun permit anyway. But, they may think before invading a house now.

It seems to be true that restrictive gun laws don't stop criminals from obtaining and using guns.

Hillary might end up pandering to the NRA before the 08 campaign is over. "Aw'm jes' a good ol' gal frum Arky-saw ..."

Not true Doug! Most criminals work for the government in Washington. It's call Homeland Security, ATF, FBI, NSA, CIA, other assorted Black Ops operations that we no idea who they are and how many are on taxpayers payrolls?

Maybe! But that dog Hillary won't hunt with the Gunowners of America anyday of the week. She is their number one target of interest 24/7.
