A royal bore
Richmonders are not lining up to see Queen Elizabeth this morning, the Times-Dispatch reports.
I'm with them. Can't think of a less interesting person. Can you?

Dorothy Kearns comes to mind....

Hey Doug, where are you weighing in? Bullfrog or Neuse Waterdog? Personally, if it can actually live and survive in the Neuse river, you gotta go with the Doggie.

Waterdog.

How about the President?

We'd have to define our terms.
When I refer to QE as uninteresting, I don't only mean she lacks personality but also that she rarely does anything of consequence; she matters very little. You can think Bush is the worst president ever but also feel strongly that he matters a great deal -- in an entirely negative way.

Doug! I dare you to shout that in front of the Brit Paliment. You will be suprise that all of 007 stuff, Queen and country still exists for the Queen. Are you aware that the Queen is one of the richest women on the Planet and could transfer Prince Henry to guard your office in the name anti-terrorism?

Doug:
Apparently she's interesting enough for some columnists to write about.
Posted on May 3, 2007 11:13 AM
Writing that someone is not interesting really makes her interesting? That's heavy, man.

Doug:
More negativity (sigh).

I'm having a hard time figuring out your rules, Dave. You want me to write nothing about anyone unless it's positive? I'm afraid I can't abide by that one. It wouldn't allow for a very lively forum.
If you're a big fan of the queen, I'm sorry.

That pretty much sums up the way I feel about Harry Reid: No personality (actually, a total zero), does little of consequence (except whine), matters not at all.

A Royal Pain,
I disagree that Doug's description sounds like Dot Kearns in some ways. You must remember how she helped those Georgia peanut farmers back in the Great Depression. I think the story as she tells it is that she got them to immigrate to High Point, and she got them jobs in the textile mill there, or something like that. I got a little confused on the details of the story after about 30 minutes of her monologue. And, I'm not sure whether or not to believe that she unionized the mill by standing on a mill factory table with a sign that said UNION or not.

Yea, Doug write something negative about the state, of NC. Seems every thing the good ole boys do is fine with you. Examples the Weasel good land deals. Nifong lying threw his teeth. The Durham Police Dept, making up a case aginst the Duke men. And how about NC weak enmient domain laws, that allows one land to be stole if you pad the pockets of some democrat. I want be holding my breath.

By the way, Doug, Time Magazine must disagree with you on QE. You say she is most uninteresting, but their editors included her in their 100 most influential people in the world. Can one be one of the 100 most influential people in the world and still be uninteresting, lack personality, and matter little? I think not. Someone is wrong.

I'm surprised Time would disagree with me. I was its Person of the Year.

Quite an indignity, no doubt, but true.
