In a better mood at the ballpark
This was one gathering in Greensboro yesterday.
Another one was here.
My son Kenny and I were a part of the latter, sharing a fine everning at the ballpark with more than 6,000 other people who, thankfully, weren't in the mood to ruminate over what a terrible city this is.

Would that we were all white upper middle class Presbyterians with cotton candy lives, Doug.
Too bad you're unable to put yourself in someone else's life experience and consider how things might look differently to you.
this post reflects poorly on you. Maybe someday you'll grow into understanding how and why.

Good for you Doug! What you and your son did is American as Apple pie. I have never known a present day professional baseball game have a political agenda.

bigbill, resentment of white upper middle class Presbyterians might make you feel better but it's not likely to get you anywhere.
By the way, lots of people in the disdainfully aforementioned category do an awful lot to make the world a better place. (I'm not speaking of myself.)

Or as an equally enlightened Scarlett O'Hara might have said, "Fiddle-dee-dee. Racism, racism, racism; this racism talk's spoiling all the fun at every party this spring. I get so bored I could scream."

You're right, of course, Dave. How dare anyone enjoy a baseball game in a city as oppressive as Greensboro?

Good for you Doug. We had home coming at church. My son , grandson, and myself played 18 holes of golf. We do not get to to that much anymore. Now all I have to is figure out how I shot 44-32. Golf sucks, if I ever get to be president, the first thing I do is outlaw golf. Mean time I will play 5-6 rounds a week. The preacher ask me, would did my wife think of me staying on the golf course, I said hell, I don't she always on the golf course. No we don't play together, that's why we been married 44 years.

It appears that you missed the 14 th commandment in the Bible.
" And Moses said! Let those who not with me and the Lord go forth and sin on the Golf course of life with a handicapped of 84." * 1st Arnold Palmer, Hole 9, Sand pit 3
The preacher ask me, would did my wife think of me staying on the golf course,* Mr Johnson
" And the Lord spoke in a driving lightingstorm on Hole 15. Let no man have his wife as a caddy or nor seek the advice of the women on a chip shot with a 4 iron. If that man listens to the women, he shall be bannish to the Club house and drown in evil wine forever." * 2 nd Bobby Jones, Augusta National chapter 3, 1st verse Banning women on the course of human events subject to Federal appeal Case 65-Par

Doug,
You could always go to Winston Salem to watch the Warthogs. We don't have a new ball park, but then Winston Salem isn't obsessed with racism either, so you can enjoy the game there without recriminations.

This is probably some of the poorest newswriting I've ever seen, for a newspaper that I think portrays itself as taking pride in the product. Jarboe gives no details on pretty much anything and slides from issue to issue without explaining why any of it matters. Try harder. Maybe you guys were overstaffed.
Poor reporting indeed.
Seems like the residents of Greensboro still don't get the point. The N&R hanged Wray. He doesn't need to apologize for his actions. The truth is coming out. Death By Journalism, Part II. Who would've guessed the N&R does it again!
Maybe your reporters should be a little more patient, or thoughtful.
Nice story (NOT!)
