Will the Republic of Vermont let you in?

Suppose Vermont does secede from the Union. Will thousands of disaffected Americans pour into the new Republic from the 49 states?

It might be appealing to many (including some of our letter writers). No Iraq war. No dictates from Washington. No blue state-red state politics. Just Green.

How would Vermont, all of 9,250 square miles, deal with that -- build a fence along the border?

Can't let the place be overrun with illegal immigrants from Boston and New York, after all.

If you're interested, maybe the time to go is now ... while the border is still open.

Boy are you confuse Doug! It's New Hampshire that is leaving the Union. Vermont is simply a buffer zone for the Live Free or Die State. Surely you know about the Libertarians who voted for this movement and are moving like crazy to New Hampshire in truck loads for the past 2 years. In fact, the Libertarians are already showing their power in politics. Just last week, a purpose law by them was accepted by the Gov of New Hampshire, which outlaw all conservative Republicians from political office in the State. Unlike Vermont, which wants to micro chip tall pine trees, New Hampshire wants to mirco-chip conservative republicans to make sure they do not cut down the tall pines in Vermont.

And you thought the 10 th amendment was dead?
