Friday fragments
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle: We don't want Larry Craig in our town.
(Naugle on Craig's "I'm not gay" statement: "Of course he's not. He's unhappy.")
Did Mike Nifong lie to the judge? Impossible to tell from this exchange:
Judge Smith: So his report [Meehan's May 12 report] encompasses it all?
Mr. Nifong: His report encompasses ever -- because we didn't -- they apparently think that everybody I speak to about, I talk about the facts of the case. And that's just, that would be counterproductive. It did not happen here.

Sounds like Miss Teen South Carolina.
No surprise that John Edwards won the endorsement of the 520,000-member Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. They all worked on his 28,000-square-foot house.

I guess you think you're funny with that John Edwards comment. So a hard working American can't enjoy the fruits of his labor while at the same time working to ensure that other hard working Americans have a chance at the American dream? Jerk.

Yeah, I thought that line was kind of funny. But maybe it's unfair to pick such an easy target.
Cheers.

Again with snark. This is why the MSM is destined for failure. Snark is mistaken for genuine humor. Journalists also seem to have concluded that their role is to be "fair" rather than truthful. Thus, the so-called "debate" on global warming -- 1 percent of scientists who disagree get the same weight as the 99 percent who agree that global warming is real.

Getting a bit far afield here.
I don't know what MSM you read, but I don't read much anywhere about scientists who say global warming isn't real.
The debate has to do with the causes of warming, the possible impacts and what actions, if any, could slow or reverse it. The climate sciences are relatively immature, with new information and theories emerging all the time. I hope all points of view can be heard and considered.

Debra,
Lighten up. It's Friday. Even in Chapel Hill.
Doug,
Stop ruining her tirades with little snarky facts and stuff.
Posted on August 31, 2007 2:59 PM
Actually, all points don't deserve to be heard, especially when they are illogical or downright ludicrous. That's why you have crackpots (Pat Buchanan, for one) treated as respectable commentators in the MSM these days.
Mick -- my pal, my friend, my brother -- have a nice labor day holiday! Support unions!

If you're in Chapel Hill, you really should enjoy Fridays.
Because Saturdays (during football season) can be a downer.

Debra, until you said all points of view don't deserve to be heard, I had thought you were a liberal. I disagree with liberals on many issues, but I wouldn't want to count censorial attitudes as one of their traits.

Doug! Are willing to prove that you are not a hypocrite since my comment posted this morning appears to have been censor. It appears that you are able to show your conservative traits attitudes toward Libertarians of my strip.

I'm not aware of your comment being censored.

It could be those dang republican Alien Lizards messing with me again

That's some kind of glitch that happens occasionally, even to me. When it does, just try again.

You are right. However, I got bigger problems, I pop my mouth off to the local Boone ASU fans about ASU being a second rate football program who had no idea what big time football is. It appears that I using your excuse about the glitch at the moment.

Is there any reason why you left off Liberal UNC Chapel Hill from your top 10 after their roaring victory over a dead Constitutionist founder of the United States? I smell politics in your top 10?

Look again, Connie. They're No. 3. The Heels are back. Big showdown with No. 6 ECU on tap.
