The best defense against crime

What a blessing to have good neighbors.

In fact, good neighbors may be your best defense against crime.

Speaking of which, check out the DDLP Neighborhood Watch blog: "Dellwood Park, Dogwood Forest, Lawndale Homes, Pershing Court home owners keeping in touch with each other."

Great idea.

Perhaps, so, but Deena Hayes would disagree. She killed a School Watch pilot program (based upon the Neighborhood Watch program) that GPD tried to implement in five schools three years ago, but she killed it by saying that she didn't want the police turning her babies into snitches. Snitches are, you know, very bad people, worse than criminals.

Sadly, in neighborhoods where that attitude prevails people will continue to be victimized by crime.
