Saturday shorts
What is it about teenage girls wearing pajamas in public, like at a restaurant on Saturday morning? Nothing else to wear?
Who knew that Bill Gray, probably the foremost hurricane expert in the country, was such a wacko? The Colorado State professor tells an audience at UNC Charlotte that global warming hysteria is "ridiculous" and "we'll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realize how foolish it was."
Gray said he's one of the few scientists brave enough to refute the "consensus": "It bothers me that my fellow scientists are not speaking out against something they know is wrong. But they also know that they'd never get any grants if they spoke out. I don't care about grants."
Well, at least this casts quite a bit of doubt over the "science is settled" mantra. Unless Gray is simply dismissed as a nutcase from now on.
But, hey, I'm a green. And I have the brown yard to prove it. We don't water, which also cuts down on my lawn mower emissions. I have a neighbor who's probably mowed her lawn a 20 times since the last time I cranked my mower.

I think there is gobal warming, I also think its a cycle we are in. We seem to forget the Dust Bowl. People then where told it would never rain again. This is the same area that got record rains this year. Wish they would share with us.
Sadly the Wackos take Al Gore word as gospel. I guess I should be happy, if not for Al Gores internet, I be in trouble.

I'm glad you bought up the color of green Doug! Did it ever occure to you why Greenland was name in the 12 th century long before Global warming appear on the political scene today? Those dang Viking really knew how to put a political Global warming debate to rest for at least another 700 years.

Shame on you for attacking a senior citizen! In fact I am tired of you acting like Doug's Mom on the internet. Doug is a wonderful person and a great family man with his heart in the right places at times. As to a getting a life, you better believe I am after it, just recently it was found my heart function was at 25% and shot out. That's means I am dead man walking or shuffing along. The good news is that they just high tech me with a bells and whistles pacemaker and Defridillatory the other day not counting a GPS device along with 20 free months of Sprint paging service.
The bad news is that the device is hook in to the Homeland Security system which means I am consider a enemy of the State at the present moment due to my constitutional politics. Frankly! I never thought I would be part of the New World order club by George Orwell in his infamous book 1984.
Now for the important news, I will stop my so-called sarcastic remarks providing you donate your heart to me if it passes the medical tests. Can I depend on this from you or will you simply fad away as another angry mom whose son did not become a doctor or a sneaky lawyer.

ps! I forgot one thing about you and Doug's appearance. What do you have against Mexican Farm workers in eastern North Carolina? You are not one of those confuse Republicans who think Mexican cabbage workers are terrorists?

O.K. Connie. I too am a senior citizen - but with a healthy heart. As a donor of any of my organs when I go to my new life, so you are welcome to my heart if you are on the organ receiving list!
I know my son better than anyone (his wife excepted) and he is a good, giving man. No I never had any aspirations for him to be a doctor or lawyer (in fact, he is a lot smarter than some I know).
I am an independent voter, and I don't have a problem with people south of the border working in our agriculture industry if our U.S. citizens are unwilling to do it. In fact, I have had a gentle soul from Mexico do some work for me.
Sorry if you have a problem with my comments.
God bless you anyway!

One of the standard approaches in this debate is to tar those who oppose massive public-policy changes to "fight" global warming with the moniker "anti-science" while hailing a "scientific consensus" on the issue.
It seems perilously close to parody, however, to take that same ad hominem approach to a scientist regarded for years as one of the world's premier experts in his field. But if that Dr. Gray may be blithely dismissed as a "wacko," then surely this Dr. Gray may be also -- Dr. Vincent Gray, an official reviewer of the UN's vaunted IPCC whose review is the whole thing is, and I quote, "The whole process is a swindle."

Says Dr. Vincent Gray: "the IPCC is fundamentally corrupt."
Thanks for the link, Jon.

Except of course Dr. Vincent Gray isn't "an official reviewer of the UN's vaunted IPCC." He's not a climate scientist at all. That he tries to pose as part of the IPCC rather than what he is - just some guy who requested the draft report and sent in a ton of comments (something anyone can do) is a good indication of his credibility.
Bill Gray is a different story. I have a lot of respect for the work he's done but he's stepped outside of his expertise in this case. His bag was never so much the physics of climate as it was pattern recognition.
