Easley's words didn't come out right

BlueNC is all upset about Mike Easley using a "gay slur" to praise Hillary Clinton.

I think the Guv just mangled his words.

He said HIllary "makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy" ...

but he meant to say Hillary "looks like Rocky Balboa in a pantsuit."

Your're dang right they are upset about being called a bunch of sissies by a retarded Govenor.

I think the Guv just mangled his words.* Doug

Mangled!!!!!!!!!! this Guv is the dude who screw up the lottery like a free lunch.

He said HIllary "makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy" ...* Doug

I notice he didn't have the gonads to say Mr T is like Obama?

but he meant to say Hillary "looks like Rocky Balboa in a pantsuit." * Doug

Maybe! But his State troopers might have to cited Hillary for being a doublewide trailer without the necessary state permits for road travel.

Pansy a gay slur? Are you kidding me?

Hillary is one tough cookie and I LOVE it!
The democrats need a fighter in the Whitehouse. Obama is another democratic lightweight that doesn't connect w/ moderate democrats and has far too many radical friends. Each and every week, he continues to prove he is not electable on a national level at this time.
Come on North Carolina Democrats!
Put Hillary on the ticket.
You can make a difference.
Give 'em Hill!

I would be willing to bet that many MANY folks did not even know "pansy" was a gay slur. Not to mention I hadnt heard the word since about 1970 or so. That is really really diggn deep to look for something bad. Just silly.

All that, Easley still sounded just dumb.

I, too, was clueless about the supposedly homophobic application of pansy. However, my Webster's New World Collegiate Dictionary, Fourth Edition, says in its slang usage pansy means "an effeminate man; esp., an effeminate male homosexual: often a contemptuous term."

I don't think Easley meant it in that sense.

By the way, I was told a while ago by a "media strategist" for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation that the word "homosexual" is offensive and should be discarded in favor of gay and lesbian.

Political correctness has gone too far in this country.

Not to mention it's pretty common knowledge that pansies are the most risilient flowers...

Our English language has really changed. I grew up thinking a pansy was a pretty spring flower.

Now, many of you want to make it a "gay" thing.

I grew up thinking gay meant happy.

What's with you crazy people?

If you mean homosexual---say so. Stop trying to make our beautiful words mean something they are not.

No doubt you have never been in a professional football tean shower, when some fool utter the term "pansy" to the showeree's.

I agree! Like George Bush refusing to use the term "resession" at the moment?

Doug said:

President Bush is no Hillary Clinton.

President Bush is no Hillary Clinton* Doug

He sure is! Notice how he spell " resesssion" and notice how Hillary spell " Southertions for North Carollinhaa"
