State GOP's wrong message
The N.C. Republican Party's ad linking Democratic gubernatorial candidates Beverly Perdue and Richard Moore to controversial black minister Jeremiah Wright because they've endorsed Barack Obama strikes me as unfair. More foolish is its defiance of the Republican National Committee and John McCain, who asked the state party not to run it.
State GOP Chairwoman Linda Daves is more on target in the part of her statement that faults poor leadership in Raleigh under Democrats for many years. She may also be correct in saying Obama is too liberal to appeal to most North Carolina voters, but he's not running for governor here. Her comments about Perdue and Moore are pretty much in line with what they've said about each other, but that sure hasn't been pretty.
Nevertheless, just as Democrats nationally can score points by attacking the mismanagement of the Bush administration in Washington, North Carolina Republicans can win the governor's race in November by attacking the mismanagement of the Democratic Easley administration and corruption in the Democrat-controlled legislature. They'd be smart to follow that strategy and leave Obama and his minister out of it.

Doug,
if you happened to listen to Linda Davies interview on NPR yesterday, it's clear that she isn;t listening to any voice of reason here. she has the "damn the topredoes, full steam ahead" mentality. The NC republican party obviously needs new leadership. If this is the best that they can offer, it's no wonder why the democrats will win again.
