Some reason to run for judge

Charlotte rich guy with a law degree but little legal experience runs for District Court judge -- against the judge he thinks screwed him in a property-distribution ruling following a bitter divorce.

Nothing personal. Just wants to "reform the system," Bill Belk says.

The Observer reports.

Let's see what voters make of this.

Not much! Mr Belk should have hired the Blackwater group to sort out his legal problems and most likely the Judges.

Belk, 58, got his law degree in 1983 but rarely practiced until representing himself during part of his divorce case* Charlotte Com

Well! There's the problem! Anybody in the legal business knows that the worst thing one can do in a rich boy divorce legal mess, is to be your own lawyer and make a fool of yourself.

Sounds like John Edwards...a guy with absolutely no experience runs for office, outspends his opponent by millions of $$$ to "buy" his office, then immediately thinks he's qualified to be President.

Or to paraphase it for jaycee.
Sounds like Mit Romney...a guy with absolutely no experience except as a Govern of a very small Liberal State and runs for office, outspends his opponent by millions of $$$ to "buy" his office, then immediately thinks he's qualified to be President of Clear Channel Media monopoly

ANYONE who is honest and has been around the cesspool "family law" courts knows they are completely depraved and corrupt.

And other than the lawyers who have a love affair with the perverse legal system, all you need to do is go sit through a few hearings and you will see the third world, tin cup dictatorships in courtrooms all over the country!

What do you expect from black robed lawyers on a power trip?

But then again, to report HONESTLY on the cesspool, someone might actually have to go and do some homework and see the little tyrannies first hand for themselves...

Let's please remember when Thalheimer took the bench after being elected unapposed in 2004 he had zero experience. The Mecklenburg County Family Court is not the place for on the job training. Ben Thalheimer brought his personal bias to the bench almost immediately and has proven in four years to be a bad judge who must be stopped. We must put an end to families being hurt, and lives destroyed and we need reform on several benches in Mecklenburg County but we need it first on Thalheimer's. It is commonly accepted throughout the legal community if a "certain" large local law firm is your council the other the other side has practically no chance regardless of what the law says, the evidence proves or the testimony of expert witnesses. I talked at length with Bill Belk and I am convinced his motives are pure and his goals noble. It is time for change and reform in our Family Courts and Bill Belk is devoted to looking out for our families and putting a stop to business as usual from our local group of powerful "good ol' boys" who are more interested in careers and fees than how their judgements affect the lives of the folks. Bill Belk genuinely cares for the folks.
