Perdue prevails on politically charged community college vote

Bev Perdue laid it on the line today when she offered the motion to bar illegal immigrants from community colleges while a study is under way.

As lieutenant governor, she's a member of the community colleges board. Failing to win over a majority of fellow board members on this highly politicized issue would have cast doubts on her persuasive powers. Her main opponent in the governor's race, Pat McCrory, could have made hay.

But Perdue prevailed. The board approved her motion.

Perdue's position was reasonable, and she deserved to win the day.

Not really. The way I read it in, the Virginia papers, its only put off until after the election. Anyone want to bet, that after the election, it will be give the state to the illegals again. To bad Phil Berger, you should have been a democrat. You are the only one I heard in Raleigh that stood up against this all the way. Bev, where was you at until, it became election tissue? Any one to to guess who the NR is endorsing in the election?

Sam Penry said:

C'mon. Everyone knows that the N&R position is pro-illegals. If McCrory had said word for word what Perdue said, you would have slammed him as a racist nut. If you look up "yellow dog Democrat" in Wikipedia you will find a picture of Doug Clark.

Update. 11 of the 19 board members were for allowing ILLEGALS to go to college at taxpayers expense. Word from Raleigh was to cool it until after the election. Votes can change ones mind.

Mr. Henry, you are 100% correct. The NR was for ILLEGALS getting free education at taxpayers expense. Wonder who won the question and answer last night? Easy McCain, went to Danville and purchased 4 liberal newspaper, have not seen one word about it. I watched Obama , ugh, ugh , ugh, . It true unless he has a script, he is hopeless. No wonder he lied about town hall debates, and going on Fox News.
